The Golden Egg

> magic, education, Art Activity — admin0 @ 1:32 pm

raibow.jpeg

One Easter day, rainbows covered every inch of the sky and, all of a sudden, it started raining Easter eggs. Every single one was different with different tastes, colors, and patterns. Nobody new why it rained Easter eggs and, ever since that day it rained Easter eggs. Not one person had ever found two Easter eggs that were exactly the same.

So one day, a boy was trotting in the woods trying to find the perfect Easter egg for him.
There were thousands of Easter eggs but none of them were satisfying to him. So as he was trotting in the woods he lost track of time and was in a part of the woods nobody had ever been before. Then he thought if nobody has been here before then there are Easter eggs here that haven’t been discovered. But he didn’t see one. Not in the trees, in the bushes, or even on the ground. He trotted a little further, and entered a spot were the sun poured through the trees.

As he passed through, something caught his eye on the side. He turned his head to see a gold
glimmering Easter egg, and, as he walked up to it he saw it was laying on a dandelion. He picked it up admiring it. Then he thought if it had been discovered yet. So he ran home and picked up the world wide discovered Easter egg book. But this was no ordinary book. Every day more and more Easter eggs get discovered and are sent to that book and many others, so it collects more and more.

The boy searched the whole book but no sign of it. So he thought great! Now he could be the
first to discover it and put it in the book. But then he thought to himself if I put it in the book every body would want it. So instead he hid it in a small box all the way in the back of his closet. Every day he would come from school and admire it. But then one day he knew that he had never tasted it. So he took a little nibble. It tasted like nothing he had ever tasted before and he knew every flavor there was. But this one was new, he didn’t recognize the taste. It was a new flavor. It was so good, so he ate the whole thing. But after, he was sad because he didn’t mean to eat it. So he ran all the way to the spot were he found it, and searched every inch of the place but could not find another one. So he dedicated his life to finding another one and being the first to find two Easter eggs the same.

My Visit to Ripley’s Museum

> entertainment, education — admin0 @ 5:22 pm
ripleys.jpg

I loved Ripley’s Museum, it was a vary fun, cool, and wacky place. When we got there, the place looked like it was going to collapse. It turned out it was suppose to look like that. The first thing we saw when we entered were these awesome statues made out of multiple things like rulers, pencils, balls, and all kinds of other things.

So, we kept walking and saw a awesome hologram of a man and all kinds of things made out of smaller things like an enormous car made out of small matches, a picture made out of small burnt bread, another picture made out of shiny and not so shiny pennies, and also a picture made out of lint.

We also saw a pole table that had one side lifted and the other side down and when you roll a ball lightly on the down side it immediately rolls to the top side and into the hole. Mommy believed it was magnetic. I kind of believed her.

So, then we looked at a couple more things like a person with three legs and dinosaur fossils. Then we entered huge room with a huge enormous picture that was made of smaller post cards, and there was a statue of the tallest man which was eight or nine feet tall, and there was the biggest wheel ever, it was so big I could fit in it! There was also small things like the world’s smallest bible, and 24 kt gold spoons. There was this mysterious treasure box that said DO NOT OPEN. Well somebody didn’t listen, me! I opened the box and got scared to death by a screaming skull.

We kept going and saw these fake heads displaying what they looked like. There was one guy that had two eyes, but had two pupils in each, and another with a horn sticking out the back of his head, and a with the longest nose which was like four inches, also a guy with a candle coming out of his head.

Then we entered a room that had a window that you could see people that thought they were looking at a mirror and they were trying to flip their tongue because at the beginning of the museum there was this part that had a video showing people who could flip their tongue so people were trying to do it in the “mirror”.

There was this other room that had a movie screen showing people doing weird things like a guy who could put a snake in his nose and out his mouth, and a goat that simply drops dead when it’s scared, also a guy with really long ear lobes that could stretch to his mouth.

Then at the end of the museum there was a hallway with a moving wall with glowing stars. Jasmine and Julian were to afraid to go inside. It was kind of dizzy. When we got out there was a Ripley store, but we didn’t buy anything. When we got to the car we told Grandma all about it.

He did dedicate his work to the Pope, who, however, considered his work heresy.

Why Home schooling is a good idea

> education — admin0 @ 6:53 pm

daycare7.jpg

Would you like to be home schooled. Well I would. It would be fun to try something different. Let me tell you why I want to be home schooled. I want to be home schooled because I get to be in the comfort of my home. We also can have vacation whenever we like and I don’t have to wake up early to go to school. Also I don’t have to follow the dress code. The dress code is when you are in school you have to wear shirt’s that are solid colored that have collars on them and you have to wear belts and also one colored pants or shorts.
I also have to follow rules at my house like no kicking or playing with balls in the house and no watching T.V. until 4:00 which is when my home schooling is done. I get to make my own schedule. I also get to go on the computer for some of my activities. I get to be with my family too. I really feel very comfortable with my mom being my one and only teacher. I also love my moms cooking it’s so fresh and nice unlike what they serve at the schools. I get to have some freedom too which is called recess but at my school we sometimes got to go out for recess on Fridays and when we did go it was pretty boring. I have to admit though I also got into home schooling because at my old school we had so many projects. Speaking about projects my mom also gives me projects too but not to big projects. So there’s my reason’s why I want to be home schooled. So think about it before you say “I don’t want to be home schooled”

Wow! My Dad showed me a few things about pitching and hitting baseballs, when he was home from Abu-Dhabi and now I’m on a baseball team.

The coach says I have a lot of potential to become a good batter. Last week, I hit a really good one and slid into “steal” second base!

Wir sind Nicht Berlinern, Barry!

> education — admin0 @ 12:13 am

I mentioned a month or so back that Barry had forgotten his 5th grade geography. You know about there only being 50 states and not 57? Well, now he thinks that we should all become World Citizens. That would be fine with me, but do you think that we can keep the Constitution?
I remember that we had to fight against Great Britain for quite a while to become free from her Imperial Powers and become a free nation and not just a colony.

Well guess history and geography are not really Barry’s favorite things.

Well, maybe he can help with those racial issues. Like Javon Dawson, Shaquanda Cotton and the Liberty city 7.

Wow! I heard that George W. Bush is being impeached for keeping kids my age imprisoned at Guatanamo Bay. What do you think about that? I heard that Dennis Kucinich, the vegan Senator from Ohio, said that this should be done because it is a violation of the Geneva conventions. Do you think they’re terrorists? I know my Mother thinks I am sometimes.

Chronicles of Narnia (Pt. 2) from Hindu Scriptures?

> Favorite movies — admin0 @ 8:24 am

We went to see the Chronicles of Narnia (pt 2) last night and I wanted to tell you it’s really great. The author, C.S. Lewis, is a famous writer from Ireland. But, when I thought about the Lion King, it really reminded me of an ancient story from India about a little boy called Prahlada Maharaj. Apparently, he was a devotee of Lord Krsna and started to chant Hare Krsna. His father was a cruel and evil king, Hiranyakasipu. So when he heard his son chanting, he immediately started plotting to take his son’s life. However, Hiranyakasipu miscalculated, because when he was about to kill his son, Krsna manifested as a half man/half-lion as Lord Nrisimhadev and tore Hiranyakasipu apart. You see, Hiranyakasipu had a boon from Lord Brahma that he cold not be killed by any weapon or any man. Sometimes people are horrified to see this aspect of Krsna, but it sends a message to the devotees that they will never be defeated. Every year, the appearance day of Nrisimhadev is celebrated by fasting and feasting in all the Hare Krsna temples. So, when I saw the movie, that’s what I immediately thought about. when I did a little research, I found out that C.S. Lewis used Nordic mythology as a basis for his work, but somehow this Indian influence is there.
You can read about Lord Nrisimhadev and Hiranyakasipu here.

Were the Mayans Aliens?

> Architecture — admin0 @ 2:07 pm

chichen1.jpg
Well, I was talking with my Grandma this morning about the Mayan culture and I told her I thought that aliens had something to do with Mayan culture. Then I checked Kids Konnect and it led me to this site Cancun south and what she told me is true. The Mayans must have known a lot about astronomy because on the autumnal and vernal equinoxes the shadow on the Chichen Itza makes a snake like figure crawling to the top. Also there are exactly 365 steps leading to the top of the temple, as many steps as there are days of the year. They must have been aliens!

57 States? Why There are 57 States According to Senator Obama

> education — admin0 @ 5:36 am

200px-centamerica.jpg
Well, perhaps Senator Obama thinks that Central America is part of the United States. There are seven countries there: Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama. Mexico is not usually considered part of Central America. Maybe they don’t teach geography at Harvard. I know they teach it in 5th grade here in Florida. So, I wouldn’t recommend that he go on the TV show “Are you Smarter than a 5th grader?” anytime soon. Also I think he would need to learn Spanish to be president there.

Oh, my friend in school told me that there are 57 Islamic states though. Maybe that’s what he meant.

Helping My Dad

> Architecture — admin0 @ 7:51 am

Well, it’s been going on for a couple of months now. I have a younger brother and my parents wanted to build a room for him. So, basically, my Dad, being very familiar with architecture, designed and built a room in the garage. So, I am helping him and learning a lot about carpentry and painting. Today, a friend is coming to install the carpeting in my brother’s room. So I guess I will have a chance to learn about that too. Even though my father is a project manager in an architecture firm that is working in Abu Dhabi, I want to be a surgeon.

Speedracer

> Favorite movies — admin0 @ 11:42 am

speedracer_small2ndposter.jpg

This was a really cool movie and i wasn’t really expecting it. i thought it was going to be some boring NASCAR movie. But it totally blew my mind. It’s a combination of real and cartoon, I guess. It was unbelievably futuristic and had a neat ethical side to it also. i would make one comment. The actor who plays the father should really retire. he used to be Roseanne’s husband. Then he was the Flintstones and he just doesn’t stay in shape. For the life of me I don’t know how he keeps his career. he needs to do some serious crunches.

Forbidden Kingdom

> Favorite movies — admin0 @ 9:27 am

forbidden-kingdom.jpg     You know, I’m really a Jackie Chan fan, but this weekend when my parents took me to see this new movie, Forbidden Kingdom, i was really awestruck to see another really great Kung Fu master, Jet Li. Most of the time, I get to see his movies with subtitles, but not this time. And this movie was way better than Karate Kid. And when the two of them encountered each other, thinking they were enemies, they had the absolute fight of the century. Nobody should miss this great movie.

Beadmaking: My New Art Activity

> Art Activity — admin0 @ 5:30 pm

beadmaking.jpg
Actually, I think it’s kind of cool. I’m making some cool bracelets to wear to school. You see, I have a couple of girlfriends, but don’t tell anyone. This is the first time I’ve been doing some art work and it’s kind of a secret. But I’ve done a few other artistic activity, like drawing and my Dad taught me how to do miniature sculptures, which are also very cool. I made a very tiny mortar and pestle. this morning my kid sister started to copy me and made a little bracelet too.
